First Blog

Hi, my name is Emily Hambright and I am a junior.  My major is community relations with a cognate in history.  I also want to get a teaching degree.  I don't have a lot of experience with history in college because I just changed my major last year (for the fourth time).  Most of the experience I have is with textbooks, but I have used the archives at the library before for my own personal interests.

The time period I am most interested in is around the time of World War II.  This period has always interested me and I would like to look into the impact an industrial community had on the war or how the war impacted a certain community, if that's possible.  I'd also be interested in researching how women took over the jobs only men always did when the men went overseas to fight in the war.  I'm still looking into exactly what I want to do my project on, those are just my ideas for starting.

See you in class!

  1. World War II is a great topic. There should be many manufacturing communities that were effected by the War. Appliance factories and muscle car factories quickly turned into bomber and tank factories during this time period. Good luck on the paper
